The City of Delaware has so much to offer. It is the county seat of Delaware County, so there is always some hustle and bustle in the downtown area. It is has also home to Ohio Wesleyan University since 1844. This town screams history and shows it in all of the beautiful homes surrounding the downtown area.
Delaware is best known for The Little Brown Jug, part of the Grand Circuit in harness racing. This race brings people from across the county to Delaware in mid-September during the Delaware County Fair. Delaware is also known for The Hamburger Inn Diner, where you can get a great burger and a fantastic cinnamon roll!
The downtown area houses several small businesses and consistently stays around 85% full. Parking is tight most days, but there are a few public parking lots with meters if on street parking cannot be found and after hours the police station and Ohio Wesleyan University parking lots are open to anyone. Delaware County has maintained a steady growing pace for the past 15 years with many new subdivisions being built bridging the gap between the main communities of Delaware, Lewis Center, Powell and Sunbury as well as extending closer to Marysville, Dublin and Worthington. Delaware is the perfect spot for commuters in Central Ohio.
